As Speaker of the House, I slashed needless government regulations by 95%, balanced the budget, passed the single largest tax cut in Idaho history and created a record surplus. I’m fighting to make Idaho an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
STANDING WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT
For my efforts supporting law enforcement, I was proud to be named “Legislator of the Year” by the Fraternal Order of Police. As Lieutenant Governor, I will continue fighting to stop liberal efforts to defund the police, work to secure America’s borders, and keep Idaho families safe.
DEFENDING IDAHO VALUES
As a cattle rancher and Speaker of the Idaho House, I have a proven record of defending our Idaho values. I’m A+ rated by the NRA and have a 100% pro-life voting record with Idaho Chooses Life. I led the fight to stop radical liberal ideologies like the Biden Administration’s Critical Race Theory from entering Idaho schools.
Water
A plentiful and readily available water supply is the lifeblood of our state and is vital to every Idahoan. I have a proven track record of negotiating settlements and crafting solutions for Idaho’s difficult and longstanding water issues. The quality and the quantity of our water, both now and into the future, depends on balancing out the sometimes conflicting demands of many diverse water interests.
Education
Every Idaho student deserves a quality education and the opportunities that come with it. During my time as Speaker, we have dramatically increased funding for our public schools by over 60 percent. Idaho students deserve to leave school well prepared to enter college or learn a trade so they can reach their full potential as adults. As our children choose careers and establish their own families, let’s encourage them to stay right here in Idaho.
Family Values
My wife Sarah and I have been blessed to raise our four children on our century-old family ranch in Oakley and to share our legacy of hard work and determination with our 14 grandkids. Idaho’s future depends on defending our conservative values, including the right to life of every person from conception to natural death and the rights of parents to raise their children without unnecessary government interference. No one will fight harder to preserve Idaho’s traditional family values.
Limited Government
As Speaker, I have been part of an ongoing effort to reduce unnecessary or outdated regulations. Idaho has become the least regulated state in the nation, creating a climate where businesses and workers prosper, and families can thrive. I will continue to promote limited government because I trust individuals to make responsible decisions for themselves.
Sustainable Growth
Idaho’s business environment and climate are the envy of the nation, and the unprecedented growth in our state presents both challenges and opportunities. As Speaker, I have worked to ensure that growth pays for itself, while maintaining and improving the infrastructure to support it. Smart growth will be one of my main focuses as Lieutenant Governor.
Second Amendment
I am a proud defender of the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. I am a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and have an A+ rating. Our forefathers granted Americans the right to bear arms, and as your Lieutenant Governor, I will vigorously oppose any efforts that threaten your right to protect your home and family.
FIscal Responsibility
Your hard-earned tax dollars are entrusted to us and must be used wisely. We should always live within our means and never spend more than we have. For decades I have been and will continue to be a conservative fiscal policy hawk. Our Idaho trust in conservative fiscal policy has developed one of the most prosperous state economies in our nation.
Transportation
I have been a key leader on every major transportation effort to move through the Idaho Legislature for the last 20 years. I have worked tirelessly to make unprecedented improvements to our roads and bridges. A viable transportation system is key to our economic success and provides safe travel for business and pleasure. Continued investments in Idaho’s transportation infrastructure will have a major impact on our state’s long-term success. As your Lieutenant Governor, I will continue my work to improve our state’s road system.
