Idaho’s Longest Serving Speaker of the House, Scott Bedke, Turns Focus to Becoming Idaho’s Next Lieutenant Governor
Boise, IDAHO – With the Idaho House of Representatives voting to adjourn “sine die,” Scott Bedke is putting his complete and total focus on becoming Idaho’s next Lieutenant Governor. Bedke, the longest serving Speaker of the House in Idaho history, is a conservative voice that the people of Idaho can count on. During his last legislative session as Speaker, Bedke led the charge to block federal overreach, provide historic tax relief, and protect our Idaho values.
“You always want to leave everything better than you found it. I believe that holds up when you look at my tenure as Speaker of the most conservative legislative body in the country,” said Bedke. “Under my leadership, every piece of conservative legislation that’s made Idaho the best place to live, work, and raise a family has passed over my desk.”
In addition to historic tax relief, the 2022 legislative session saw crucial legislation to enhance our Idaho values. Bedke backed bills to bolster our 2nd Amendment rights, fully fund law enforcement, ensure the Right to Life, and protect our land and water rights. Additionally, Bedke led the fight against Joe Biden’s medical mandates and attempt to push bad liberal ideologies in Idaho schools.
“With Joe Biden and the Democrats in control of D.C., we need strong and steady leadership at the state level,” said Bedke. “I bring the experience and conservative results that are necessary to protect Idaho. I intend to deliver those same results as Idaho’s Lieutenant Governor.”
