Southern Idaho Potato Cooperative Endorses Scott Bedke to be Idaho’s Next Lieutenant Governor

Boise, IDAHO – The Southern Idaho Potato Cooperative, Inc. is excited to announce its endorsement of Scott Bedke to become Idaho’s next Lieutenant Governor. Kent Peterson, President of the Southern Idaho Potato Cooperative, Inc., says Bedke’s roots in agriculture as a fourth generation Idaho rancher, accompanied with his conservative track record as Speaker of the Idaho House of Representatives, are what led to the endorsement.

“Speaker Bedke represents Idaho to its core. While Idaho has experienced a high rate of growth and the plethora of issues that come with it, Bedke understands that agriculture is still largely dominant in our rural areas, which make up most of Idaho. As a fourth generation Idaho rancher who comes from rural roots, Bedke is continuously looking for innovative solutions to open opportunities for our agriculture commodities to continue forward as thriving industries,” said Peterson. “It is essential that Idahoans elect leaders who truly care about our state. Idaho has thrived under Bedke’s conservative leadership, which is why the Southern Idaho Potato Cooperative, Inc. is endorsing his campaign for Lieutenant Governor.”

At the helm of the most conservative legislative body in the country, Bedke fought to protect our land and water rights, while negotiating long-standing water disputes that have plagued Idaho for decades, including the Snake River Adjudication.

“While Idaho’s economy is booming across various industries, it’s important for us to remember what got us here,” said Bedke. “Idaho potatoes are iconic, largely due to the great minds and hard work of local farmers, like members of the Southern Idaho Potato Cooperative. As your next Lieutenant Governor, I will continue delivering conservative results that help Idaho businesses and families.”
